Packing up for a productive afternoon is working at cross purposes to my plan of bike riding. The only riding I’ll be doing today is on a stationary at the gym.
But I have pledged to ride 100 bike miles in May, which is double from last year, so I’ve got to start somewhere.
In Sacramento, California the May is Bike Month challenge begins today (actually it launched last week with a special badge and other incentives to coincide with the big Highway 50 construction project). To date, locals have pledged a total of 1,455,556 miles. You can log miles to win prizes each week, plus it’s a chance to add a new form of recreation and exercise to your routine, and replace commute, errand, and school miles.
Have you ever done a bike challenge? How did it go?
